About the monster Herblore XP tool

Pick a monster and your kills per hour, and see how much Herblore XP its herb and seed drops are worth, per kill and per hour. Useful for OSRS ironmen deciding where to farm herbs: the tool ranks farmable monsters by banked Herblore XP so you can compare Nechryael, Aberrant spectres, Turoth, and the rest at a glance.

How the numbers are computed

Drop tables come from the OSRS Wiki (via the osrsbox-db dataset) for 279 monsters that drop herbs or herb seeds. Monsters with multiple versions share one drop list in the source data, so the tool takes the richest version's rate per herb instead of summing; otherwise multi-version monsters like Zombies would be overcounted several times over.

Herb drops are valued through the same model as the Bank XP calculator: each herb goes to the highest-XP potion you have enabled, seed drops are grown into expected herbs with your Farming settings, and a Mastering Mixology figure shows what the same herbs are worth as paste (per herb, Mixology usually beats making potions). XP scales linearly with your kill rate.

Frequently asked questions

Why are bosses missing from the ranking?

The farmable ranking deliberately excludes bosses and superior slayer variants; it is meant to compare monsters you can camp for herbs, not one-off drops.

Are seed drops counted as XP?

Yes. Seeds are converted to expected herbs using the farming yield model (Farming level, compost, magic secateurs) before being valued as potions or paste.

Is the data live?

No. Drop rates are hardcoded from the wiki dataset and refreshed with the site, so the page works offline and never makes requests.

Drop data cloned from the OSRS Wiki / osrsbox-db, hardcoded, with no external requests. Herb/seed rates are stable; XP is expected-value.
